Bathyswath-2
Bathyswath-2 has been in use since 2015. It gives excellent performance and reliability in a small, low-power package with 3 frequency options (117, 234 & 468 kHz).
Bathyswath-2 gives wide swath widths; this increases survey speeds significantly, especially in shallow water. It has three frequencies: 117, 234 or 468 kHz with respectively 400, 200 and 100m maximum ranges. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said: “Operating swath of the bathymetric system ranged from 15 to 20 times water depth in in depths less than 15m”.
Unlike Bathyswath-3, Bathyswath-2 works on a single sonar frequency, which can be user selected at run-time, and has one, two, or three separate sonar transducers. It therefore has fewer operational features than Bathyswath-3, but its simpler construction can be useful in some applications.
Different configurations for different uses
- B2S : Bathyswath-2 Standard (Deck Unit)
- B2U : Bathyswath-2 Underwater (Subsea Unit)
- B2O : Bathyswath-2 Omega (full integrated system)
- B2OEM : Bathyswath-2 OEM (for OEM integration)
Bathyswath-2 OMEGA (B2O)
Although Bathyswath-3 is now available, we still offer the B2O package, to support users who have designed their systems around it, or for the occasional case where the physical layout of Bathyswath-2 suits a vehicle or vessel better.
For an integrated package, in most cases we recommend either Bathyswath B3S-B or Bathyswath B3S-A plus Navbox.
Bathywath-2 OMEGA (B2O) provides sonar control, GNSS positioning, INS motion compensation, sound velocity measurement, and data acquisition and sonar processing and data acquisition in one compact package. Bathyswath uses wide swath widths; this increases survey speeds significantly, especially in shallow water.
- 3 sonar frequencies (117, 234 or 468 kHz), in bathymetry and sidescan.
- Low-power consumption.
Integrated OMEGA deck unit
One optional motion sensor (4 possibilities), one optional dual-antenna GNSS receiver for heading and positioning (3 possibilities) and two single-board-computers (one for sonar data acquisition and one for 4G communications & end-user needs).
3 different transducers: 117, 234 or 468 kHz.
